DAY 1 ARRIVAL IN TANGIER
Upon arrival in Tangier, you'll be welcomed at the port or airport and assisted with customs formalities. Afterwards, you'll be taken to your hotel for the remainder of the day to relax and adjust to the new landscape.
DAY 2 TANGIER – TETOUAN – CHEFCHAOUEN
This tour will take you to explore the gate of Africa Tangier. Start with a drive of the fashionable New city and witness the luxurious villas, palaces, and the King's summer season Palace. Next, visit Cap Spartel, the legendary lighthouse that marks the convergence of the Atlantic and Mediterranean, followed by the cave of Hercules that dates back to the Neolithic era. You will also explore the alleys of the bustling medina and its spice markets, as well as St. Andrew's Church, a spot quietly tucked off the market square. Thereafter, travel to the blue city of Chefchaouen via Tetouan. Visit the traditional, picturesque Berber stronghold, with its striking souks, mosques, and UNESCO World Heritage Site. End the tour with a visit to the white city of Tetouan, known as the 'daughter of Granada'.
DAY 3 DISCOVER CHEFCHAOUEN
Today, immerse yourself in the beauty of Chefchaouen, Morocco, set upon the captivating peaks of the Rif Mountains. Bright blue hues radiate from whitewashed homes, while their red-tiled roofs complete the picturesque scene. Enjoy a sightseeing tour accompanied by a friendly local guide, and explore the unique architecture and art representative of the Arab-Andalusian culture. Wander through the city’s winding streets, admiring the fountains, squares, ovens and other landmarks. Visit Outa Hammam Square to take in the 14th-century fortress and mosque. Next, journey to the gorgeous Ras El Maa spring and complete your adventure in this incredible city. Take advantage of the amazing views, pools and watermills, and leave Chefchaouen with unforgettable memories.
DAY 4 CHEFCHAOUEN – VOLUBILIS – MEKNES – FEZ
We started our day off with a delicious breakfast before heading to Volubilis, the archaeological Roman site included in UNESCO's World Heritage List. In Volubilis we found remains of stunning mosaics and hundreds of Latin inscriptions, along with many artistic materials. Our journey continued at the 17th century Imperial City of Meknes, where we toured the fortress walls of the Medina and admired the grand entrance of Bab Mansour. We were also shown the Sahrij Swani, an immense granary that served as a barn for 12000 horses. Meknes is also renowned for its production of olives and olive oil, which we saw in abundance at the Lahdime Square market. Finally, we drove through open fields of wheat, barley and olive trees to the medieval city of Fes.
DAY 5 FEZ SIGHTSEEING TOUR
You are about to embark on an exciting tour of the old city of Fes, an incredible maze of more than 9000 alleyways, and a cultural and intellectual hub of Morocco. You will start by visiting the intricately decorated Royal Palace gate, followed by a panoramic view of the southern tower of Fes. You will be able to visit a pottery co-op and watch as locals craft beautiful tiles and mosaics. Through the streets full of vibrant colors, filled with locals and donkeys carrying merchandise, you will find a plethora of handcrafted items. Stop by a Koranic school, the Nejjarine fountain, and the Karaouine Mosque University. The highlight of the tour will be the leather tanneries, where locals work on different skin textures with goat, lamb, camel and cow, in small pits. After indulging in some delicious Fes cuisine, your trip will come to an end.
DAY 6 FEZ – IFRANE – MIDELT – MERZOUGA
We are setting off today from the imperial city of Fez in Morocco with a destination of the Sahara Desert of Merzouga. As we make our way, we will take a break in Ifrane, a town frequently referred to as the 'small Switzerland'. Here we will be surrounded by views of immense beauty, from majestic Mountains and lush plains, to the native Maggot Monkey found in the cedar forest in Azrou. Next, we will stop in Midelt to partake in the annual Festival of Apples, before continuing on to Errachidia, a city named after prince Moulay Rachid. Our journey will continue through Ziz Valley and the Arfoud gate before eventually reaching Merzouga. Here we will have a chance to ride camels and witness a stunning sunset in the middle of the Erg Chebbi dunes. We will spend the night camping under a starlit sky, enjoying a dinner created by our hosts.
DAY 7 MERZOUGA – SKOURA
We begin our adventure after a delightful breakfast, departing from Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Our day takes us to Ziz, a beautiful oasis with origins in ancient times. Here, we'll stop for lunch in the Valley of Todra, a 15 km stretch of picturesque landscape which was once a famous trading route for silver and jewellery. Our journey continues in Dades Valley, where we'll marvel at the natural rock formations shaped by millions of years of erosion. Then, we follow the Rose Valley, the only place in Morocco where the Damascus rose grows. Here, some of the roses are harvested to produce rose oil, used in skin treatments and to reduce wrinkles. Finishing our journey, we'll arrive at the palm groves of Skoura Oasis where we'll stay overnight.
DAY 8 SKOURA - OUARZAZATE - AIT BENHDAOU - MARRAKECH
Take a tour to the Kasbah of Ameridil and then on to the Hollywood of Africa Ouarzazate, where you can experience the Cinema Studio. After that, Ait Benhaddou village awaits - a UNESCO listed cultural site and home to the making of various famous films, such as "Lawrence of Arabia", "Jesus of Nazareth", and "Gladiator". Following the tour, we will head north through the exquisite High Atlas Mountains, taking in the red rocks, Berber villages, and picturesque Tizi-n-Tichka pass - until we reach the romantic pink city of Marrakech.
DAY 9 MARRAKECH SIGHTEEING TOUR
After an energizing morning, you will explore the charming city of Marrakech. First stop, the tranquil Jack Majorelle Gardens, a hidden gem filled with exotic plants. From there, you will visit the 19th-century Bahia Palace, a beautiful building with mosaics and stucco walls. Hear stories about the Grand Vizier's many wives and concubines! You will also make your way to the Saadian Tombs, built in the 17th century as a royal necropolis. Finally, you will end your tour at the bustling Jemaa el Fna Square. Explore the aromas, colors and items in the souks and be amazed by the street performers and vendors. Experience the vibrant city of Marrakech like never before.
DAY 10 ATLAS MOUNYAINS DAY TRIP
Experience a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city on a short escape to the majestic Atlas Mountains! Imlil, a serene village at the base of North Africa's highest peak, is the ideal place for some exciting adventure. Here, you will witness lush valleys against a backdrop of pink houses, trees, and the beauty of Mount Toubkal National Park. Accompanied by a local guide, you will enjoy an invigorating hike and refuel with a delicious lunch at one of the many resorts like Richard Branson's Kasbah Tamadot or the restored Kasbah of Toubkal, both offering breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. As the day comes to an end, you will be taken back to Marrakech in the late afternoon. This is the perfect getaway for families, couples, and honeymooners!
DAY 11 MARRAKECH AT LEISURE
Marrakech is a stunning city with much to offer in terms of entertainment. From stunning gardens and modern leisure complexes to shopping malls and well-maintained golf courses situated in picturesque natural surroundings, the city is a veritable hub of activity. There are also plenty of nightlife options available and it's possible to find a serene spa where you can have a traditional Moroccan bath. To really get a sense of Moroccan culture, why not join a cooking class and find out about local cuisine?
DAY 12 MARRAKECH – AIRPORT
Depending on when your flight is scheduled, transfer to either Casablanca or Marrakech international airport for your return.
